Job summary

Family Dollar is seeking a part-time Customer Service Associate to provide a great shopping experience. You will assist customers, handle transactions at a register, and help stock and maintain the store.

The role requires strong customer service, reliability, and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Prior retail or service experience is preferred, with emphasis on teamwork and good communication.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous customer service experience in retail, hotel, restaurant, grocery, or drug store environment is highly preferred.
• Ability to follow instructions and interpret operational documents is required.
• Must be able to lift between 30 and 50 lbs. and meet demands of walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and repetitive lifting.
• Excellent customer service and relationship management skills are required.
• Strong organizational and communication skills are required.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers with questions and recommendations.
• Manage sales transactions while working assigned cash register.
• Maintain security of cash and protect company assets.
• Keep the store well-stocked and recover merchandise.
• Receive merchandise and help with unloading trucks, stock replenishment according to productivity standards.
• Ensure a positive, safe, and respectful environment with customers, associates, and leaders.
• Maintain cleanliness including bathrooms, floors, trash, and overall neatness across the store.
• Other duties as assigned.
