Job summary

Family Dollar in West Terre Haute, IN is seeking a part-time Customer Service Associate to deliver a positive shopping experience for every customer. You will assist customers with questions, process sales at the register, stock shelves, unload trucks, and maintain a clean, safe store environment.

Prior retail or service experience and a high school diploma or equivalent are preferred. We offer a supportive team, flexible scheduling, and opportunities for growth along with standard benefits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
• Previous customer service experience in retail, hotel, restaurant, grocery, or drug store environment is highly preferred.
• Ability to follow instructions and interpret operational documents is required.
• Must be able to lift between 30 and 50 lbs. from floor to above shoulder height and meet demands of frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and repetitive lifting.
• Excellent customer service and relationship management skills are required.
• Strong organizational and communication skills are required.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers with questions and recommendations.
• Manage sales transactions at the assigned cash register.
• Maintain cash security and protect company assets.
• Keep the store well-stocked, and recover merchandise.
• Receive merchandise and help with unloading trucks; stock replenishment.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and presentable store environment.
• Other duties as assigned.
