Job summary

Flowerama in Cedar Rapids is seeking hardworking, upbeat team players for day, evening and weekend shifts in our florist and gift store. Prior retail or customer service experience is valued.

This position supports customers, operates POS, assists with floral tasks, and works with a friendly team. Both part-time and full-time roles are available with flexible scheduling.

• Strong telephone skills and ability to establish rapport with customers.
• Floral design experience helpful but not mandatory.

• Typing ability (30 WPM).

Job description

Flowerama is looking for looking for hardworking, upbeat, dependable individuals for day, evening, and weekend shifts. Our Florist and Gift store is seeking qualified applicants who have strong customer service and / or retail experience.

• Previous retail sales experience.
• Excellent customer service experience.
• Strong telephone skills and ability to establish rapport with customers.
• Familiarity with florist business helpful but not mandatory.
• Floral Design experience helpful but not mandatory
• Ability to work as part of a team while completing tasks in a timely manner
• Typing Ability (30 WPM)
• Point of Sales experience is a plus
• Strong communications and strong interpersonal skills including verbal and written communication ability
• Ability to lift 40lbs unassisted
• Ability to stand up to 8 hours daily, and up to 10 hours seasonally
• Commitment to work a flexible schedule in a fast-paced creative environment. We are open Monday - Friday 7:30am-7pm, Saturday 8am-7pm, and Sunday 10am-4pm. Please note that during busy holiday times, hour of operation will be extended to meet the needs of our customers. Employees are also expected to work extended hours during Valentines Day and Mothers Day weeks, including Valentines Day and Mothers Day.
