Job summary

Family Dollar Stores Of Kentucky LP in Newport, KY seeks a Customer Service Associate to provide a welcoming shopping experience and assist customers with inquiries. You will handle sales, maintain store appearance, stock merchandise, and help unload trucks as needed.

The role requires strong customer service, reliability, and physical ability to lift 30–50 lbs. Part-time schedule with responsibilities across daily store operations and safety standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
• Previous customer service experience in retail, hotel, restaurant, grocery, or drug store environment is highly preferred.
• Ability to follow instructions and interpret operational documents is required.
• Must be able to lift between 30 and 50 lbs.
• Frequent standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing and pulling required.
• Excellent customer service and relationship management skills are required.
• Strong organizational and communication skills are required.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers with questions and recommendations.
• Manage sales transactions while working assigned cash register.
• Maintain security of cash and protect company assets.
• Keep the store well-stocked, and recover merchandise.
• Receive merchandise and help with unloading trucks, stock replenishment.
• Ensure a positive, safe, and respectful environment with customers, associates, and leaders.
• Maintain cleanliness throughout the store, including bathrooms, floors, trash.
• Other duties as assigned.
