Job summary

Goodwill of Central and Coastal Virginia is seeking a part-time associate at our Chester, VA store to help process donations, maintain store appearance, and enhance customer and associate satisfaction. You will inspect donations, sort materials, tag and display items, and work as part of a fast-paced team to meet daily productivity standards.

The role requires the ability to lift up to 50 pounds, weekends/evenings availability, and successfully pass a background check.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred. Will consider a combination of education and work experience.
• No previous experience required.
• No professional certifications are required for this position.
• The associate will be required to successfully pass a criminal background check.

Responsibilities

• Inspects donations and raw material for quality to determine marketability as outlined in the Retail Operations Manual.
• Sorts raw material—categorize for store use, salvage, trash.
• Stands and tags donated items according to Goodwill’s rotation system as outlined in the Retail Operations Manual.
• Stands and hangs sorted goods for placement on the retail sales floor based on productivity standards outlined in the Retail Operations Manual.
• Produces appropriate number of items each day according to Goodwill’s minimum standards as outlined in the Retail Operations Manual.
• Adheres to uniform dress code standards as outlined in the Retail Operations Manual.
• Demonstrates an enthusiastic and positive attitude.
• Able to work as a team member in a fast-paced environment, handling multiple priorities and quickly learning new procedures.
• Able to be cross trained in multiple production and customer service positions.
• Adheres to Asset Protection control and compliance procedures.
• Able to communicate effectively with customers, peers and management.
• Adheres to work schedule.
• Able to handle the physical requirements to accomplish daily responsibilities.
