Job summary

Family Dollar in Baldwyn, MS seeks an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service, and team development. You will assist with daily store activities, organize merchandise, and help supervise and train associates.

You will maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming store, enforce company policies, and support leadership in achieving sales and service goals while handling payroll, scheduling, and loss prevention duties.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred; ability to read and interpret operational directives is required
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs. and perform typical store duties requiring walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and lifting

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day activities
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns
• Organize and transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas
• Perform opening and closing procedures
• Process corporate directives and store communications
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays
• Assist in ordering merchandise, process damaged merchandise, payroll, scheduling, cash deposits and loss prevention
• Maintain a clean, well-stocked store and organized stockroom
• Protect and secure store assets including cash
• Adhere to safety policies and ensure policy compliance by associates
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates
• Maintain a positive, safe, and respectful environment with customers and staff
• Keep store clean, restrooms stocked, floors swept and mopped, trash removed
• Other duties as assigned
