• Must meet eligibility requirements as outlined in the JMU Student Employee Handbook.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate a commitment to the Office of Student Accountability and Restorative Practices, its mission and outcomes.
• Maintain confidentiality as required by FERPA regarding the non-disclosure of educational records; maintain confidentiality of other sensitive information.
• Hear cases for students alleged to have violated JMU policies; weigh evidence to determine if policy was violated and, if applicable, assign appropriate educational outcomes.
• Actively participate in weekly meetings pertaining to hearing cases.
• Assist with Restorative Processes and programs, which may include workshops, classes, and Circle Processes.
• Schedule and conduct Restorative Intake meetings with students; participate in weekly Restorative Practices team meetings.
• Participate in community outreach initiatives; assist with marketing efforts for Restorative Practices; maintain Restorative Practices case information.
• Assist in researching and improving restorative programs; design resources for programs and trainings.
• Assist in outreach initiatives, project development and review, evening programming, and related duties.
