Job summary

Pima Medical Institute is seeking a Respiratory Therapy Instructor for a part-time, on-site role in Tucson, AZ. The position offers up to 30 hours per week with flexible scheduling discussed with the hiring manager.

Compensation ranges from $35.00 to $38.75 per hour, with opportunities to mentor the next generation of RTs. The role emphasizes classroom instruction, labs, and hands-on demonstrations, along with student advising and course assessments.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in respiratory care or related field from an accredited program; Baccalaureate degree preferred.
• Minimum of three years of direct practical experience as a hospital or clinical Respiratory Therapist.
• Active RRT credential and current Arizona RCP licensure.
• Current licenses, certifications or credentials required by local/state/federal laws to teach.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and educational computer applications.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Deliver dynamic lectures and labs with hands-on demonstrations and labs.
• Plan daily lessons and instructional materials aligned with program objectives.
• Coordinate guest speakers, field trips and externship activities.
• Monitor student performance and implement interventions to maintain high success rates.
• Track attendance, record progress, and assist with grading and records.

Associate's degree in respiratory care or related field
