Job summary

St. David's North Austin Medical Center is seeking a Respiratory Therapist (RRT) for a part-time role in the Austin area.

The RT will guide patients through routine care and critical moments, performing diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, managing ventilation, and collaborating with physicians and nurses to ensure high-quality patient outcomes. Qualifications include NBRC-RRT, state RRT license, ACLS within 90 days and BCLS within 30 days, and an Associate Degree.

Qualifications

• ACLS must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date.
• BCLS must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
• NBRC-RRT certification is required.
• RRT/RCP-State certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Assessing respiratory status and determining need for interventions.
• Delivering evidence-based therapy including oxygen, aerosols, and airway clearance techniques.
• Managing ventilation and airways with invasive and noninvasive support.
• Educating patients and families and serving as a clinical resource.
• Maintaining equipment and upholding infection-prevention standards.
