Qualifications

• Graduate of an American Medical Association accredited Respiratory Therapy program.
• Registered Respiratory Therapist credential by the NBRC.
• Current Texas Respiratory Care Practitioner license.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Current Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification for NICU staff.
• Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification for ICU staff.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate various types of respiratory care equipment.
• Perform a range of technical procedures related to cardiopulmonary hemodynamics.
• Demonstrate competency in proper airway care.
• Assess patients, interpret results, and suggest alternative respiratory treatment.
• Assess respiratory function and maintain accurate documentation.
• Deliver therapy and reassess patients in a timely manner.
• Communicate with physicians and nurses about patient care plans and updates.
