Job summary

The Salvation Army Harbor Light Center in Indianapolis, IN is hiring a Residential Support Specialist to monitor residents’ status, assist with admissions and discharges, and provide a safe, supportive environment. You will teach classes, interact with clients, and support the clinical team while upholding strict confidentiality.

Qualifications include a High School Diploma or equivalent, ICADA certification a plus, a valid driver's license, and availability for weekends/evenings.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent; ICADA certification is a plus.
• Background checks: A background check is required and reviewed.
• Experience: Ability to communicate warmly and empathetically with clients; flexible schedule including weekends/evenings.
• Certifications: Valid driver’s license and Safe From Harm training within 30 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to Salvation Army Harbor Light Center policies.
• Teach classes as assigned; maintain curriculum and attendance records.
• Provide progress notes to the case manager and counselor.
• Maintain client confidentiality per standards.
• Assist in admissions and discharges; prepare rooms and provide linens.
• Support clients with meals, activities, and mobility needs.
• Attend staff meetings and coordinate with clinical staff.
