Job summary

Avalon Housing in Ann Arbor, MI is seeking a Part-time Residential Support Specialist (RSS) to join our 24-hour front‑line team. You will check visitors in, monitor safety, assist residents with daily needs, and coordinate services with on‑site staff and outside providers to foster a supportive living environment.

This role requires a high school diploma, strong communication, crisis response ability, and a willingness to work flexible hours including on‑call shifts.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• Ability to work well with multicultural communities.
• Experience or interest in human services and homelessness support preferred.

Responsibilities

• Check visitors in and out, answer phones and monitor security systems.
• Maintain safety and security of residents by monitoring access areas and enforcing rules.
• Intervene in crises and respond to emergencies; contact emergency services as needed.
• Coordinate services for tenants and contact outside service providers.
• Work with onsite staff and visiting providers; refer tenants to clinical staff as needed.
