Job summary

The Home for Little Wanderers in Roslindale, MA is seeking a Part-Time Residential Counselor for the Therapeutic After School Program (TASP). You will help create a safe, supportive environment for youth aged 12 to 16 and support their treatment goals.

Under supervision, you will counsel, supervise daily living activities, assist with behavior management, and coordinate with family services. First Aid may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• One year childcare experience in a residential setting.
• Computer literacy with the ability to learn new software applications.

Responsibilities

• Provide a safe and secure environment for clients.
• Counsel, observe, and provide behavioral training, outreach support, advocacy and treatment to children and families.
• Coordinate activities of daily living for students, including hygiene, clothing, chores, and transitions between activities.
• Provide First Aid as needed and respond to medical or emergency situations.
• Communicate with program staff regarding client progress and challenges.
• Complete all required paperwork, including time sheets, level cards, goals, and incident reports.
