Job summary

The Home for Little Wanderers is seeking a Part-Time Residential Counselor for its Therapeutic After School Program (TASP) based in Roslindale, MA. You will work under supervision to provide a safe, supportive environment for youth aged 12 to 16, delivering behavioral training, advocacy and treatment to children and families.

Responsibilities include supervising daily living activities, coordinating care with staff, and participating in group and individual interventions aligned with treatment

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• One year childcare experience in a residential setting with similar population of children.
• Computer literate, including Microsoft Office and Internet Explorer, with the ability to learn new software applications.

Responsibilities

• Provide a safe and secure environment for clients.
• Counsel, observe, and provide behavioral training, outreach support, advocacy and treatment to children and families.
• Assist with activities of daily living, supervision and transition between activities.
• Provide First Aid as needed and coordinate medical/emergency situations.
• Complete paperwork including time sheets, level cards, goal tracking, incident reporting and 51As.
• Attend trainings and supervision meetings.
