Job summary

The Home for Little Wanderers, Inc. is seeking a Part-Time Residential Counselor for the Therapeutic After School Program (TASP) in Roslindale, MA. The role focuses on a strength-based, family-centered model delivering therapeutic and psycho-educational services to youth aged 12–16.

You will work under supervision to support clients toward reunification and long-term out-of-home placement, coordinating care, education, and life skills in a dynamic after-school setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• One year childcare experience in a residential setting with similar population of children.
• Computer literate, including Microsoft Office and Internet Explorer, with the ability to learn new software applications.

Responsibilities

• Provide a safe and secure environment for clients.
• Counsel, observe, and provide behavioral training, outreach support, advocacy and treatment to children and their families.
• Assist with life-skills training, educational planning and preparation for long-term placement.
• Plan and participate in activities with clients/students on an individual and small group level.
• Provide First Aid as needed.
• Maintain a safe and supportive environment and supervise living, dining, and educational areas.
