Job summary

The Admiral at the Lake is seeking a dependable Driver to support residents' transportation needs in Chicago, IL. This hands-on role requires safe vehicle operation, courteous service, and accurate logs for scheduled transport.

Responsibilities include assisting residents in entering/exiting, loading packages, performing daily safety checks, and maintaining confidentiality per HIPAA. A valid license and clean driving record are required.

Qualifications

• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.
• Must be insurable under vehicle insurance requirements.
• Experience driving a van or small bus.
• Ability to speak, read, write, and understand English.
• Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Ability to work cooperatively with residents, staff, and others.
• Ability to remain calm and professional while driving.
• Follow defensive driving practices and all applicable safety regulations.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate company vehicles to transport residents.
• Assist residents with entering and exiting vehicles.
• Assist with packages and luggage as needed.
• Maintain a professional, courteous, and calm demeanor in all traffic and transportation situations.
• Perform daily vehicle safety checks, including fuel, oil, water, and other required items.
• Keep vehicles clean and report maintenance or safety concerns promptly.
• Maintain accurate transportation and vehicle maintenance logs.
• Follow defensive driving practices, state laws, and all safety requirements.
• Communicate effectively with residents and staff regarding transportation schedules and concerns.
• Fill in for other drivers and complete additional transportation runs as assigned.
• Assist with general service calls, supply pick-ups, furniture and equipment moves, snow removal, room set-ups, and special events as needed.
• Maintain resident confidentiality and follow HIPAA, privacy, security, and organizational compliance requirements.
