Job summary

Robinwood Retirement Community in West Des Moines is seeking a Part-Time Server to create joyful dining experiences for residents. You will join a collaborative team, carry trays, take orders, and deliver meals across Casual and Fine Dining.

No prior experience is required and the minimum age is 15. You must communicate in English with residents, guests, and staff, and be able to obtain a food handler permit within two weeks of hire.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 15 years of age or older.
• No previous work experience is required.
• Must communicate effectively in English with residents, guests, and employees.
• Ability to secure required food handler permits as required by local ordinances within two (2) weeks of hire.
• State regulations may require certain applicants to obtain a work permit before beginning employment. If this applies, guidance will be provided. Permit must be submitted at hire.

Responsibilities

• Enhance the dining experience by assisting residents in Casual Dining by carrying trays, offering beverages, and proactively meeting service needs.
• Create memorable moments in Fine Dining by greeting tables, guiding residents through menu selections, taking orders, and serving courses.
• Clear and reset tables, handle dishes, refill water carafes, and set tables before meals.
• Vacuum carpets, clean the salad bar, and complete other cleaning tasks as needed.
• Deliver room service meals and pick up trays with a friendly attitude.
• Listen and respond kindly to resident comments or concerns and share feedback with a manager.
• Assist with other tasks as assigned by supervisors or managers.
