Job summary

The Oldroyd Lab at the Donald Danforth Plant Science Center is seeking a reliable and organized part-time Research Assistant to support the lab for 8 hours per week, with a regular schedule of 4 hours on Monday and 4 hours on Wednesday.

The role focuses on routine laboratory support tasks essential for day-to-day research operations, including cleaning glassware, maintaining a clean workspace, and occasionally preparing media and stock solutions.

Qualifications

• Ability to carry out routine tasks carefully and consistently.
• Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Interest in laboratory research or plant science is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Clean laboratory materials, glassware and items from routine media prep and experiments.
• Wash and sterilize laboratory supplies and equipment.
• Support general laboratory upkeep to maintain a clean, organized workspace.
• Prepare media and stock solutions for experiments on an occasional basis.
• Assist with other routine laboratory support tasks as needed.
