Job summary

FYR Bio is seeking a dependable part-time Laboratory Operations Assistant to support day-to-day laboratory upkeep, organization, and routine operations at our Missoula, MT facility. You will help keep benches, floors, and shared spaces clean and orderly, while restocking supplies and documenting tasks.

• Dependable, punctual, and willing to perform routine laboratory support work.
• Strong attention to detail and consistent follow-through.
• Able to follow written and verbal instructions, procedures, and checklists.
• Organized and able to complete recurring tasks independently after training.
• Willing to ask questions and communicate problems promptly.
• Available to work on-site approximately 12-20 hours per week.

Key Responsibilities

• Keep laboratory benches, floors, and shared work areas clean and orderly.

• Complete and document recurring maintenance and housekeeping checklists.

Preferred Qualifications

• Relevant coursework in biology, biotechnology, chemistry, laboratory science, or a related area.
• Prior laboratory, stockroom, facilities, or operations experience.
• Interest in biotechnology laboratory operations and learning new equipment or inventory systems.
• Proficient in pipetting techniques and experience with sterile laboratory practices.

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements

• Work is performed on-site in a biotechnology laboratory.
• Routine standing, walking, bending, cleaning, and moving supplies are expected.
• Approximately 12-20 hours per week that overlap office hours anytime from 8-5 Monday-Friday
• Required training, safety procedures, and PPE.
