Qualifications

• Certified BLS Provider required within 3 months of hire or transfer date.
• Successful completion of dysrhythmia training and exam.
• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience or education in a medically related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Confers with department to gather patient information and telemetry requirements.
• Prepares telemetry box and inputs patient data into RCMS.
• Applies heart monitor and initiates patient monitoring.
• Explains remote monitoring process to patients and answers questions.
• Recognizes and documents cardiac rhythms and notifies RN/Code Team as needed.
• Maintains equipment and replenishes supplies; reports malfunctions.
• Retrieves telemetry boxes upon discharge or discontinuation of monitoring.
