Qualifications

• BLS Provider certification within 3 months of hire.
• Complete Dysrhythmia course within 35–45 days.
• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience or education in a medically related field preferred.
• Dysrhythmia training and exam completion required.

Responsibilities

• Gathers pertinent patient information for remote telemetry from the department.
• Prepares telemetry box and inputs patient data into RCMS.
• Applies heart monitor to patient when monitoring begins.
• Explains remote monitoring process to the patient.
• Respects patient rights, dignity, and cultural preferences.
• Recognizes cardiac rhythms and notifies RN/SWAT/Code Team as needed.
• Keeps equipment clean and stocked; replenishes supplies.
• Notifies supervisor of equipment malfunctions.
• Retrieves telemetry boxes after discharge or end of monitoring.
