St. James Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center is seeking a Part Time Registered Dietitian to join our care team. The role includes interviewing patients and families for nutritional history, updating diet orders, assessing patients, and providing dietary counseling and written guidance.

Requires a degree in Nutrition or Dietetics, RD eligibility, and full vaccination against COVID-19. This part-time position offers competitive pay up to $37 per hour and a focus on maintaining high-quality

Qualifications

• Degree in Nutrition or Dietetics.
• Must be a Registered Dietitian or RD eligible.
• Must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19.

Responsabilités

• Interview patients and families for nutritional history.
• Update diet orders and menu changes in computer software.
• Assess patients and document in patients’ medical records.
• Recommend therapeutic diet modifications to physicians for patients.
• Ensure accuracy of diet orders by checking against physician’s order.
• Provide nutritional guidance and counseling to patients and families.
• Assess / Monitor the Residents' nutritional status in appropriate time frame, provide recommendations to medical staff and develops adequate care plans
• Assess feeding ability and make recommendations for adaptive feeding equipment to occupational therapy as needed.
• Evaluate special needs of Residents regarding nutrition support, skin breakdown monthly, and significant weight changes.
• Monitor Resident meal service to ensure diet modifications are followed
• Routinely evaluate Dietary Care plans for effectiveness to ensure high quality of care
• Work closely with a Speech-Language Pathologist to ensure appropriate mechanically altered diets are provided for residents with dysphagia
• Works closely with the Wound Care Team to promote healing
• Knowledge and or experience of MDS 3.0 is a plus
