Job summary

The City of Diamond Bar offers part-time opportunities in its Parks & Recreation Department for individuals who enjoy community service and teamwork. You will help run recreation programs, assist with events, and ensure participant safety while supporting daily operations.

Required include a HS diploma or GED, CA driver's license, AED/CPR/First Aid after appointment, and ability to lift 40 lbs. Positions may average up to 19 hours per week with weekend/evening shifts.

Qualifications

• Graduation from High School or GED within 60 days of application.
• One year paid customer service experience or two years unpaid volunteer service dealing with the public.
• Possession of a valid California Class C or Class 3 driver's license and an acceptable driving record.
• Certified AED, CPR and First Aid Safety Course required after appointment.
• Ability to travel to different sites and locations.
• Ability to lift 40 pounds and push/pull 50 pounds.
• May sit in one location for up to two hours at a time.
• Ability to work schedules including weekdays, weekends, evenings and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the organization and delivery of various recreation programs, sports leagues or services.
• Assist with organization of special events, sports activities, arts and crafts, games, and play activities for youth and/or adults.
• Ensure the safety of participants through proper use of equipment and enforcement of rules, regulations and lifting techniques.
• Assist in supervision of sports leagues, playgrounds, community centers, meeting rooms, park areas, and ensure safety of participants through proper use of equipment and rules.
• Set up/ take down tables, chairs, and equipment for classes, programs, sports activities, and special events.
• Complete written reports including facility checks, attendance reports, and incident and accident reports.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
