Job summary

City of Myrtle Beach hires a PT Recreation Assistant to support indoor and outdoor youth, adult, and senior recreation programs. You will assist with events, answer questions, and help with registrations and facility rentals, while maintaining safety and quality of service.

The role requires strong customer service, teamwork, and the ability to work flexible hours including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required or preferred.
• Strong customer service and communication skills for in-person, phone and email interactions.
• Knowledge of safety procedures, first aid and CPR is preferred.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a public facility.
• Experience working with youth and adults in recreation programs is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist with planning and implementing recreation events, activities, and programs.
• Provide information and assistance to customers in person, by phone, and by email.
• Support facility rentals, classes, leagues and games.
• Greet visitors, handle inquiries, and direct patrons to appropriate staff.
• Maintain records, calendars, and safety checks; report issues to supervisor.
