Job summary

The Town of Matthews is seeking a part-time Recreation Aide to assist in organizing and conducting a variety of programs and activities for children and adults. Under supervision, you will provide on-site supervision for rentals and program implementation, facilities oversight, and setup during scheduled activities.

Evening and weekend availability is required; hours do not exceed 19 per week. Pay is $15 per hour.

Qualifications

• Requires some coursework in high school and experience in recreational programming.
• First Aid, CPR and AED certification preferred.
• Ability to work evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Organize games and activities for programs and events.
• Assist with delivery of recreation programs and events.
• Monitor participants in recreation facilities.
• Coordinate evening and weekend schedules with supervisor.
• Provide a safe environment for participants.
• Perform clerical duties and maintain files and reports.
• Prepare, set up, and disassemble materials for programs and rentals.
• Answer phones and collect program/rental fees.
