Job summary

The City of Pendleton is seeking a part-time Recreation Lead in the Parks & Recreation Department to provide a safe, nurturing, well-supervised day programs, events and other special programs.

You will supervise youth, coordinate with parents and volunteers, assign work to Recreation Aides and maintain records. Requires 2 years of childcare/education experience; strong communication and computer skills; valid drive. Approximately 20 hours per week, mostly afternoons and early evenings.

Qualifications

• Requires 2 years of training, education, or experience in childcare or education.
• Good interpersonal skills, ability to communicate effectively, work independently, use a computer and drive are also required.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and engage youth in daily activities.
• Coordinate with parents, collaborators and volunteers.
• Assign the work of Recreation Aides and keep appropriate records.
