Job summary

The City of Newport Beach Recreation and Senior Services Department is hiring part-time Assistant Recreation Coordinators to support youth programs and the animal shelter. You will help coordinate and implement activities across programs such as sports, after school and camps, events, and facility operations, with a strong emphasis on customer service and independent work.

Qualifications

• One year of work experience in recreation programs or related field.
• California driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
• Red Cross CPR and First Aid certificates to be obtained within 6 months of hire.
• Education: Completion of the twelfth grade; college coursework in education/recreation is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Assist in coordination and implementation of activities within Youth Programs and the Animal Shelter.
• Support adult and youth sports, after-school and camp programs, events, contract classes, and facility operations.
• Provide excellent customer service and the ability to work independently.
