Job summary

The City of Coronado is seeking a Recreation Assistant to support front desk and daily operations across multiple divisions. The role may be Seasonal (up to 40 hours/week, not to exceed 89 days) or Temporary (not to exceed 29 hours/week or 1,000 hours/year).

Based at the Coronado Community Center, Spreckels Center, or other sites, you will assist with program registrations, event setup, and customer information, while helping with youth and adult programs and inclusive activities.

Qualifications

• No experience is required.
• Ability to read and write at a level necessary for successful job performance.
• Possession or ability to obtain a Class B or C drivers license with a safe driving record.
• Possession or ability to obtain first aid and CPR certificates.

Responsibilities

• Provide phone and in-person customer service at the front desk.
• Register patrons for programs and provide general information.
• Assist with preparing event spaces and maintenance of facilities.
• Support recreation activities for youth, teens, adults, and seniors.
• Assist during rental events as a staff liaison and oversee program scheduling.
