Job summary

Full Circle Recovery Community Center in Council Bluffs, IA is seeking a part-time Recovery Coach to provide peer recovery support services to individuals in recovery from substance use disorders. The role emphasizes empathy, motivation, and goal setting to help clients pursue sustained recovery and access community resources.

Responsibilities include developing recovery plans, TRS program duties, advocacy, data entry, and collaboration with healthcare partners.

Qualifications

• Personal experience with substance use disorder, mental health conditions, recovery, and/or justice involvement.
• Knowledge of recovery systems, MAT, multiple pathways of recovery, harm reduction, and criminal justice.
• Education/experience in human services, social work, or criminal justice in the nonprofit sector.
• Must complete CCAR Recovery Coach Academy and Ethical Considerations within three months of hire.
• Creative problem-solving skills and adaptability.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency with MS Office, Zoom, and data management.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Peer recovery support to individuals in recovery, onsite and in the community.
• Develop recovery plans, connect with resources, and navigate challenges.
• Share recovery experiences appropriately to motivate clients.
• Set goals using evidence-based practices and assist with reporting.
• Advocate for rights and wellbeing of individuals with substance use disorders.
• Maintain confidential records and contribute to program evaluation.
