Odyssey House is seeking a Part-Time Recovery Coach to provide community-based recovery services for an assigned caseload at the Odyssey House Recovery Center in Bronx, NY. You will conduct outreach, advocacy, and develop sober social and support activities on-site and in the community.

The role emphasizes developing Wellness Plans with participants, documenting services per requirements, and participating in ongoing recovery activities and support services.

Formación

• High School Diploma or G.E.D. required.
• Ability to deliver culturally competent services to a diverse urban population.
• Familiarity with the project's ethical framework for recovery services and the Recovery Self-Assessment and Planning Guide.
• Minimum six months of community-based recovery with at least six consecutive months of abstinence.
• Good interpersonal skills and enthusiasm for recovery.
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule.
• CCAR certification to be obtained within six months of hire.

Responsabilidades

• Contributes to the development of the ethical framework for delivery of recovery services within this framework.
• Contributes to the development of a community resource book.
• Assists participants in completing a Wellness Plan.
• Provides guidance, support and recovery coaching per Wellness Plan.
• Conducts outreach activities in the community.
• Organizes pro-social community activities and events.
• Maintains weekly contact with each participant for at least 30 minutes.
• Attends monthly Recovery Coach support group.
• Helps facilitate Peer to Peer recovery support groups.
• Maintains weekly Recovery Coach contact log.
• Conducts educational presentations for providers of local recovery support services.
• Delivers educational presentations to groups of prospective Recovery Coaches and participants.
