Job summary

TrustPoint Hospital in Murfreesboro, TN is seeking a part-time Registered Behavioral Health Tech for our day shift. The position involves providing specialized care to individuals with IDD under supervision of an ABA Therapist and applying BSP and behavior modification techniques.

The role requires RBT certification, CPR and de-escalation/restraint certifications, and a focus on patient safety. Competitive pay includes a $2.00/hour shift differential and 7 AM–7 PM hours.

Qualifications

• High school degree is required.
• At least 6 months’ experience working with individuals with IDD; one year preferred.
• Some college in the helping professions (social work, psychology, sociology, etc.) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Implement behavioral modification techniques that are individualized and outlined in the patients BSP.
• Ability to review and apply treatment techniques from assessments (Preference Assessment, FAI, EFL Assessment) for skill building.
• Data collection and entry into assessments to demonstrate treatment effectiveness.
• Work directly with an ABA therapist to implement, track, update, and modify BSP.
• Demonstrate urgency to ensure patient safety and provide excellent customer service.
• Ensure the well-being of patients and provide a positive, structured environment.
• Conduct safety checks and ensure supervision at 15-minute intervals as required.
• Document timely, accurate clinical information in the patients medical record.
• Assist in providing a safe environment for patients, families and staff.
• Monitor rounds and patient safety; observe at 15 minutes intervals as needed.
• May obtain vitals, height and weight and document in patient records.
• Identify self to patients and visitors and respond to requests quickly.
• Engage with patients in activities to achieve treatment goals.
• Respond to distressed patients calmly and de-escalate when needed.
• Support independent living skills and coping strategies as part of the team.
• Monitor behavioral changes and report to the nurse; communicate changes to the team.
• Reinforce skills taught by nurses, physicians and therapists.
• Assist with activities of daily living as needed.
