Job summary

UAB Medicine is seeking a Radiologic Technologist for the Birmingham North Tower Imaging department. The role is outpatient, part-time, and focuses on X-ray, DEXA, CT, MRI, and ultrasound imaging with emphasis on breast imaging.

Monday through Friday, 11am–4pm, no evenings or weekends, with outpatient procedures and learning opportunities in DEXA. You will perform radiologic procedures under a radiologist, position patients, manage exposure factors, and ensure high-quality images while adhering

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited program in Radiologic Technology.
• BLS Provider within 30 days of hire date.
• Bone Density Certification may be required within 6 months of hire.
• Cardiographic/ARRT credentials required (Radiography or Sonography) depending on role.

Responsibilities

• Perform radiological procedures under radiologist supervision.
• Position patients and select exposure factors accurately.
• Administer contrast media within regulatory scope.
• Observe patient and monitor protocols for safety.
• Ensure high-quality images and proper documentation for PACS.
• Maintain department cleanliness and organization.
• Ensure equipment is functioning and report malfunctions.
• Assist with bone density scans using DEXA if applicable.
• Follow radiation safety procedures to minimize patient exposure.
