Job summary

CommuniCare Family of Companies’ Bridgewater Healthcare Center in Carmel, IN is seeking a Part-Time Qualified Medication Aide (QMA) to join our compassionate team. This role provides routine medication administration and personal care to residents to ensure the highest quality of care.

Part-Time Day Shift positions are available. Wages start at $19/hr, with more based on experience and shift worked. Daily Pay, tuition reimbursement, great health plans, uniforms, and life insurance are offered.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Graduate of an approved Nurse Aide Training Program or eligible to enroll and finish within 120 days.
• Understanding of medication administration procedures.
• Ability to perform basic math.
• Understanding of resident care procedures and standards.
• Ability to make independent decisions when warranted.
• Prior healthcare experience desirable.
• Ability to communicate tactfully with staff, residents, families, and others.
• Willingness to learn and adapt nursing practices.
• Ability to relate information about a resident’s condition.

Responsibilities

• Set up and administer medication per physician orders and state/federal regulations.
• Display knowledge of side effects and nursing implications of common medications.
• Account for controlled drugs each shift and report discrepancies.
• Chart routine medications and documentation of PRN medications with follow-up.
• Maintain inventory of medications.
• Rounds with nurse and physician.
• Prepare monthly medication records.
• Provide personal care and treatment for residents.
• Perform basic nursing care functions as required.
• Create a clean, safe environment and meet residents' needs.
• Maintain resident documentation for activities of daily living and restorative programs.
• Attend training and orientation to maintain certification and enhance care quality.
• Perform other duties as required or assigned.
• Maintain and follow policies and safety programs.
