Job summary

• At least 1 year of experience in a purchasing, buyer, or similar role.
• Beginner to intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Familiarity with an MRP system.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with suppliers and internal teams.
• Ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to safely package and prepare materials for shipment.

Responsibilities

• Create purchase orders for MRO, supply chain, and other purchasing needs.
• Route purchase orders and related documentation for required approvals and signatures.
• Track open purchase orders from creation through delivery.
• Follow up with suppliers regarding order status, lead times, and outstanding items.
• Update expected delivery dates and communicate changes as needed.
• Maintain accurate purchasing, supplier, and delivery tracking spreadsheets.
• Maintain supplier and vendor documentation, including required forms and certifications.
• Update Excel reports and purchasing documents used by management.
• Support the Operations and Manufacturing Support teams as needed.
• Wrap, package, and prepare shipments being sent to outside service providers.
• Prepare shipping documents and other paperwork for outside services, particularly during periods of lower purchase order activity.
• Assist with freight quotes and coordination for domestic pickups as needed.
