Job summary

Alvin Community College is seeking a Part-Time Instructor for the Continuing Education Workforce Development (CEWD) department. This pool supports available assignments during the academic year, with a limit of 19 hours per week and flexible scheduling that may include days, evenings, and weekends.

Qualifications

Minimum of three (3) years of experience in a related field.
Demonstrated understanding of pump and valve operation, fluid flow, piping systems, equipment safety, preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting.
Working knowledge of instructional methods and delivery via the Internet.

Responsibilities

Develop and deliver instruction in pump and valve operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
Teach the basic principles of centrifugal, positive-displacement, and other common industrial pump systems.
Instruct students in valve operation, startup/shutdown, isolation, and safety procedures.
Provide instruction on piping systems, process control concepts, and safety practices.
Other duties assigned.
