Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; minimum 1 year in law enforcement/public contact.
• Knowledge of police principles, laws, and city/state ordinances; emergency medical knowledge.
• Ability to investigate, prepare written reports, and communicate clearly in speech and writing.

Responsibilities

• Responds to priority calls; directs on-site activities and provides emergency medical assistance.
• Detects and prevents crime; conducts surveillance and engages with community.
• Secures crime scenes; investigates accidents; protects evidence; assists detectives.
• Enforces traffic laws; directs traffic; reports unsafe road conditions.
• Prepares daily reports; maintains logs and completes forms.
• Transports and fingerprints prisoners; assists motorists; testifies in court.
• Performs follow-up on reported crimes to reduce future incidents.
• Performs monthly checks on sex offenders and predators.
