City of DeLand is seeking a Police Officer to perform high-hazard, independent law enforcement duties, protecting lives and property. The role operates under supervision of a Sergeant or Commander, with strict adherence to agency policies and procedures.

The position requires a Florida law enforcement credential path, a valid Florida driver’s license, and the ability to manage emergencies, communicate clearly, and perform investigations and patrols effectively.

Qualificações

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Must meet Florida Statutes requirements for FSD and CJSTC.
• Must pass a physical examination by a licensed physician.
• Must possess a valid Florida driver’s license and a clean driving record.
• Ability to establish public and employee relations.
• Ability to plan, organize and direct people and resources.
• Ability to speak and deal directly with the public.

Responsabilidades

• Attends meetings and briefings as directed by the Sergeant.
• Maintains equipment and vehicles in proper condition.
• Makes arrests and completes booking procedures.
• Interviews and interrogates suspects.
• Conducts patrols and responds to calls for service.
• Prepares reports and required paperwork.
• Protects the chain of evidence at scenes.
