Job summary

Gilead Community Services in Meriden seeks a skilled Psychotherapist for our Community Transitional Residence program. The role provides 20 hours weekly of individual counseling and/or group therapy for adults with mental health, addiction, and related needs in a 3-bed transitional setting.

The position requires a Master’s degree in human services with Connecticut licensure preferred, EMR documentation proficiency, and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in human services required; CT license preferred.
• Experience in community outreach, coalition building, program development is preferred.
• At least 5 years of clinical experience in mental health, addictions, or trauma work.
• Knowledge of DSM (latest edition) required; computer literacy and documentation in EMR needed.

Responsibilities

• Establishes collateral relationships with families, providers, landlords, and other community supports.
• Conducts psychosocial assessments with mental status and diagnosis; maintains timely records and treatment plans.
• Promotes Recovery, Trauma, and Gender Informed approaches in staff and client interactions.
• Participates in intake, referral, ongoing service, and discharge planning processes.
• Collaborates with Directors and Managers to improve workflow and client relations.
• Provides direct services (clinical assessment, crisis intervention, psychotherapy) in multiple modalities.
• Supports policy improvement and ensures compliance with licensing and QA processes.
