Job summary

Gilead in Middletown, CT is seeking a Recovery Assistant for its adult residential program. The role requires Wednesday 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM and Thursday–Saturday 11:00 AM - 7:00 PM, totaling 32 hours weekly, with benefits.

You will provide coaching, mentoring, advocacy, education, and supportive services to adults with serious mental illness and co-occurring disorders, including teaching daily living skills and money management. A high school diploma is required; a driver’s license is needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; associate/bachelor's preferred
• Must maintain valid driver’s license and automobile insurance
• Reliable use of personal vehicle as needed

Responsibilities

• Understanding needs of clients with serious mental health and substance use disorders
• Assisting with meal preparation, household chores, shopping, cleaning, and money management
• Providing rehabilitation options in nutrition, clothing, basic care skills, spirituality, financial management, etc.
• Delivering recovery-oriented services emphasizing dignity, respect, and family involvement
• Coordinating transportation to treatment, community events, and appointments
• Collaborating with the treatment team to support clients’ mental health and risk assessments
• Acting with compassion, integrity, and ethics
