Job summary

Three Rivers College is seeking a Professional Tutor to support students in math and English and help with center operations. The tutor will provide academic assistance, maintain a friendly learning environment, and ensure effective communication across all skill levels.

The role requires an associate degree in Math, English, or related field; bachelor’s degree is preferred. The position is part-time, up to 19.5 hours per week, with a pay range of $15.50–$16.00 per hour.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Math, English, or closely related field required.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Math tutors must have completed College Algebra or Mathematical Reasoning & Modeling with a grade of B (3.0) or better.
• English tutors must have completed College Writing with a grade of B (3.0) or better.
• Minimum of one year of experience assisting students in an academic setting is preferred.

Job description

The Professional Tutor will provide excellent customer service while performing a wide variety of duties necessary for the daily operation of the center. These duties include but are not limited to assisting students in the subject of math or English, basic computer maintenance, and center cleanliness.

The primary function of a Professional Tutor is to provide academic support to the TRC community. Providing academic support involves helping students develop the knowledge, skills, and confidence needed to become independent learners. Tutors must have strong interpersonal skills and be able to work and communicate effectively with students of all skill levels.

Associate degree in Math, English, or closely related field required; bachelor’s degree preferred. Math tutors must be taking or have completed College Algebra or Mathematical Reasoning & Modeling with a grade of B (3.0) or better. English tutors must have completed College Writing with a grade of B (3.0) or better. Minimum of one year of experience assisting students in an academic setting is preferred.

Salary range is $15.50 - $16.00 per hour. Position will work up to 19.5 hours per week.
