Job summary

YMCA of Catawba Valley is seeking a Part-Time Early Childhood Substitute Teacher to support the preschool team. You will assist Lead Teachers, help with meals, and help manage breaks while ensuring a safe, inclusive environment for children aged birth to five.

You must be 18+, have a high school diploma or GED, reliable transportation, and be able to pass a background check. Excellent communication and a proactive attitude are essential, with a readiness to lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Assist Lead Teachers and Teachers in their classrooms.
• Assist with cooking, prepping and serving meals.
• Giving Lead Teachers and Teachers breaks and lunch breaks.
• Caring for children ranging in ages from birth-5 years.
• Bending and lifting up to 50 pounds.
• Filling in for Lead Teachers and Teachers in their absence.
• All YMCA staff are responsible for creating a safe, inclusive environment. This includes following all YMCA policies and procedures related to abuse prevention, reporting concerns or incidents immediately, and maintaining appropriate boundaries with youth and members.
