Job summary

The Learning Lamp is seeking a part-time Staff Substitute to support preschool programs in Bedford, Everett, and Claysburg-Kimmel School Districts. The role collaborates with the Scheduling and Staffing Coordinator to provide coverage during absences in the Early Learning Department.

Responsibilities include classroom management, ensuring student safety, and following PA state and PDE licensing requirements.

Qualifications

• Several educational pathways accepted for childcare roles.
• Compliance with PA child care regulations and state reporting.

Responsibilities

• Classroom management and creating a learning-conducive environment.
• Take attendance and maintain orderly classroom routines.
• Ensure student safety and supervise activities at all times.
• Coordinate with assistants and aides to manage centers.
• Follow DHS, PKC, STARS, PDE requirements and policies.

Education

High school diploma or GED + 30 credit hours in early childhood education / human service field

High school diploma or GED + 600 hours of secondary training (CCP or CDA)

High school diploma or GED + 15 credits in early childhood education + 1 year experience

High school diploma or GED + CCP or CDA post-secondary training

High school diploma or GED + 2 years of experience with children

Bachelor’s degree in early childhood education or related field

Bachelor’s degree with 30 credits in ECE + 1 year experience

Associate’s degree in ECE or related field + 2 years experience

Associate’s with 30 credits in ECE + 3 years experience
