Job summary

Village of Pleasant Prairie is seeking a Baby U/ Preschool U Assistant Teacher for the Youth Department. This part-time, non-exempt position runs Monday–Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. or with AM/PM variations (7:00–1:00 or 12:00–5:30) and may require some evenings or weekends for events and trainings.

We prioritize a safe, engaging environment for children and teamwork among staff. Major shifts include availability from 12:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. and occasional full-day options.

Qualifications

• Minimum age 18 with a High School Diploma or equivalent.
• CPR/AED and First Aid certification or ability to obtain within three months of hire.
• Valid Driver’s License preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with supervision and activities to support children’s physical, social and cognitive development.
• Provide a safe, positive environment and interact with children and families.
• Maintain classroom appearance, organization, and learning centers; supervise and document attendance and incidents.
• Attend events and trainings; participate in staff meetings and required educational activities.
• Follow Village policies, safety procedures, and check-in/check-out protocols.
