Job summary

UHP in Madison is seeking a Lead Teacher to provide care and education in a play-based learning environment. This part-time role offers flexible scheduling with morning, afternoon, or lunch shifts and 1-5 days per week.

The ideal candidate holds a Wisconsin DPI license for Pre-K (4K) and a Bachelor's degree, with strong communication and a commitment to inclusive, developmentally appropriate education in collaboration with families and co-teachers.

Qualifications

• DPI teaching license from Wisconsin including Pre-K (4K).
• Bachelor's Degree required or commitment to obtain 4K license.
• At least 320 hours experience as an assistant child care teacher.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Background check and COVID-19 vaccination.

Responsibilities

• Create engaging curricula aligned with UHP philosophy.
• Provide care and supervision for assigned groups of children.
• Foster positive relationships and social skills.
• Maintain open communication with parents and staff.
• Coordinate with co-teachers and administrators to ensure collaboration.
• Meet licensing and accreditation standards.
• Pursue ongoing professional development.
• Conduct annual conferences with parents.
• Record and track child progress and prepare reports.
• Represent the team at Board meetings.
