Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience as prep cook preferred.
• Knowledge of health and safety rules in a kitchen.
• Manual dexterity to operate cutting tools.
• Strong teamwork and communication.
• Able to stay positive under pressure.
• Physically able to stand for long periods.

Responsibilities

• Prepare food for cooking and serving.
• Be present in the kitchen and communicate with others.
• Measure ingredients and seasonings to be used in cooking.
• Ensure ingredients stored at proper temperatures.
• Maintain cleanliness of equipment, dishes and work areas.
• Prepare foods according to instructions and orders.
• Package prepared foods to fit customer needs.
• Prepare ingredients by washing, cutting, peeling.
• Assist wait staff by providing prepped items for service.
• Monitor temperature of cooking equipment and cooling areas.
• Report damaged equipment and low supplies to supervisors.
• Comply with nutrition and sanitation guidelines.
• Perform other kitchen duties as assigned.
