Job summary

Surgery Center of Boerne, part of United Surgical Partners International, is seeking a Part Time RN for PreOp/PACU to provide safe patient care before and after procedures in GI, General, and Orthopedics.

The role requires weekdays only with no holidays or weekend shifts; some early mornings or evenings may occur. The RN will monitor patients, assist in anesthesia recovery, and coordinate with physicians to ensure smooth discharge.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited RN School of Nursing.
• Active RN license in the state.
• BLS and ACLS Required, PALS if required by the center.
• 2 years of experience in PACU or Critical Care preferred.
• Ability to make decisions based on nursing judgment.
• Able to prioritize and organize workload to meet the needs of patients and the unit.
• Strong communication skills, verbal and written.

Responsibilities

• Provide continuity and quality nursing care for all patients with continual evaluation of condition and safety.
• Assist physicians in procedure rooms with tasks including conscious sedation and sterile techniques as appropriate.
• Provide comprehensive care to patients emerging from general anesthesia and/or sedation; assess, plan, implement and evaluate discharge readiness.
