Job summary

SQA Services, Inc. is hiring a Quality Mechanical Source Inspector for the first shift. This part-time role offers 20-25 hours per week, 2-3 days as needed, on-site in Portland, Oregon.

You will perform precision verifications on mechanical parts and assemblies, reading drawings and applying GD&T. Responsibilities include surface plate inspections and using micrometers, CMMs, and other gauges to ensure conformance to specifications, plus proper documentation.

Qualifications

• 5+ years hands-on experience with precision mechanical parts inspection.
• Reading and interpreting manufacturing drawings and industry standards.
• Proficiency in GD&T and validating dimensions with hand tools.

Responsibilities

• Perform precision inspection verifications on mechanical parts, components, assemblies, and materials.
• Inspect purchased parts, in-process and final assemblies, and materials for workmanship and conformance to drawings/specs.
• Perform surface plate inspection of first article, in-process, and lot samples as required.
• Use inspection equipment (micrometers, gauge blocks, dial indicators, height gauges, optical comparators, profilometers, CMMs) as needed.
• Maintain excellent visual acuity to detect defects in complex products.
• Verify documentation packages to industry/commodity standards.
• Classify defect types and verify rework during inspection.
