Job summary

SQA Services, Inc. is seeking a Quality Mechanical Source Inspector for the first shift. This on‑call, low‑frequency role involves inspecting mechanical parts, assemblies, and materials to ensure conformance to drawings and standards.

You will use precision tools and CMMs, read blueprints, and verify documentation while maintaining tight quality controls. Ideal candidates have 5+ years’ experience, GD&T proficiency, and the ability to adapt to new inspection technologies.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands‑on experience with precision mechanical parts inspection.
• Read and interpret manufacturing drawings and standards.
• Proficient in GD&T and validating dimensions (tolerances ≥ .005) using hand tools.
• Experience with certificates of conformance and inspection documentation.
• Ability to adapt to new technology and software.
• Excellent visual acuity to detect defects in complex products.

Responsibilities

• Perform precision inspection verifications on mechanical parts, components, assemblies, and materials.
• Inspect purchased parts, in-process and final assemblies, and materials for workmanship and conformance to drawings.
• Perform surface plate inspection of first article, in-process, and lot samples as required.
• Use inspection equipment such as micrometers, gauge blocks, dial indicators, height gauges, optical comparators, profilometers, and CMMs as needed.
• Verify documentation packages to industry standards and classify defect types.
• Verify rework conducted during inspection.
