Job summary

Tidewater Community College in Virginia Beach is seeking a part-time Practical Nursing Education Program Instructor to provide instruction, supervision, and evaluation of students in clinical and lab settings.

The role requires an Associate degree in nursing, an active RN license in Virginia, at least five years of clinical nursing experience, and familiarity with the nursing curriculum; teaching experience and technology skills are preferred.

Qualifications

Current, unencumbered RN license to practice nursing in Virginia.
Minimum of five years of full-time clinical nursing experience.
Medical/Surgical nursing experience is required.
Bachelor's degree in nursing preferred (not required).
Strong knowledge of nursing curriculum and clinical objectives.

Responsibilities

Provide instruction, supervision, and evaluation of student performance in clinical and lab settings.
Supervise and evaluate groups of students in hospital or health care settings.
Understand course objectives and nursing curriculum.
Maintain collaborative relationships with clinical sites, faculty, and staff.
Work may occur during day, evening, or weekend sessions as assigned.
Maintain student records and sign off clinical hours.
Communicate with students regularly for academic feedback.
Complete clinical paperwork accurately.
