Job summary

Backpack Healthcare seeks a part-time Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner to provide telehealth psychiatric care for children, teens, and young adults. You will join an integrated care team that includes therapists, psychiatrists, and care coordinators, ensuring comprehensive, family-centered treatment.

The role emphasizes flexible hours (afternoon/evening/weekends) and a strong collaboration culture, with mentorship and cross-disciplinary support for clinicians at all levels.

Qualifications

• Must hold an active Maryland PMHNP license.
• PMHNP-BC board certification is required.
• Active DEA license and state license(s) as applicable.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations for children, teens, and young adults.
• Develop individualized treatment plans with patients and families.
• Prescribe and manage psychotropic medications and monitor effects.
• Provide brief supportive interventions and psychoeducation alongside meds.
• Collaborate with therapists, psychiatrists, and care coordinators in regular case reviews.
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation in the EHR and educate families.
